Rockland Roots Branding and Vehicle Wrap Design

Client: Rockland Roots is a gourmet, farm-to-table food truck, caterer, and cafe established by chef Brian Holbach. He sources most of his food locally to support and promote community farmers. www.rocklandroots.com
Goal: For this new small business, the client requested branding and a design for their food truck. The ambition for concept was to express family, healthy eating, and community.
Process: Starting with a color palette, we chose bold earth tones to represent healthy natural food products. The same color palette would be used for the truck wrap design, so it was important for the colors to stand out and draw attention without being loud. The big challenge for designing the logo was how to show family, food, and community in a simple concept.
The farm-to-table concept of Rockland Roots was the inspiration for the logo design. Lines and negative space make up the farm landscape with the horizon used as a tabletop with three bowls representing the family. The logo is the cornerstone of the vehicle wrap design for the company's food truck.
The initial approach for the vehicle wrap design was to show a connection between communities with fun messaging and characters throughout the layout. A more simplified look was later chosen and led to the final design. Results:
